Curatorial Statement

Composite By The Numbers is part of Composite Noises Series. It is primarily an art project. The task is to compose music/ sound/ noise pieces using number-data that are born of our current crises. These compositions/ composites have to be shareable, which means that other artists, besides the one who made it, will be able to perform the piece.  It is imagined that while this particular musicking/ sounding/ noising is a metaphor for rehumanising the value of these numbers, allowing others to perform what is composed/ composited is a metaphor for communing—of remembering that we are all in this together.  We are more connected than we think.

Launch of works are spread throughout the calendar from 17 August 2020. Site will be up until 17 Aug 2021.
